UPM is delighted to announce that its flagship GS CDM Sichuan Household Biogas PoA has been selected by the participants of the We Belong Forums 2016 to offset the GHG emissions of the events hosted in Beijing & Shanghai in October 2016. UPM’s French business partner EcoAct was the carbon offset sponsor of theseevents on sustainable business and innovation.

The outcome of a voluntary climate action which consists of the following steps:

1- Measuring your Carbon (climate) footprint,
2- Reducing your greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible,
3- Offsetting what you cannot reduce using certified emissions reductions.

This voluntary action by businesses and individuals, as well as governments, is needed to ensure we get on track to avoid the worst effects of climate change by the second-half of the 21st century.

The high-quality certified emissions reductions of UPM’s Sichuan Household Biogas PoA are being used by public and private entities around the globe to offset all or part of their climate footprints every year.
